Wheel Stops are an essential part of any car park, designed to inhibit encroachment into an opposing parking space, control kerb overhang or contact with a building or high kerb. They are best used for protecting drop-offs from the edge of a kerb between 150 and 600mm in height in car park applications. Recycled rubber wheel stops have been designed as an economical and durable alternative to the cumbersome concrete style. The 1650mm premium rubber wheel stop weighs’ 18 kg against nearly 104 kg of concrete. This means one person alone can install our wheel stops against two people with lifting equipment for its concrete counterpart, a considerable cost saving. Wheel Stops are moulded from a tough, recycled rubber compound and are finished with a highly visible yellow hazard pattern. They come in two different lengths of 1650mm and 2000mm long. They are required to be within 90 to 100mm in height and 1600 to 1700mm in width to comply with AS/NZS 2890.1:2004. There are three fixing points on the 1650mm wheel stop and four on the 2000mm, all recessed to hide the fixings. The wheel stop can be supplied complete with fixings, depending on the type of surface concrete, paving or bitumen. In general, a dyna bolt is used for concrete and a road spike for bitumen and paving.
